90′s For a Night

I don’t know how I’m supposed to start this blog post. Excited eeee!  Last night, there were ocean of ideas entering my mind on what I should tell here due to excitement of finally seeing and hearing the songs of my favorite boy band live here in Manila.

I can’t find words to describe my feelings last night joining thousands of fans gathered at Araneta Coliseum to welcome tian tian, makoy and bentoy. Who am I talking about here? Who are tian-tian, makoy and bentoy? Sounds familiar? Guesses please! Nah, they are not Filipinos. They adopted Filipino names that are downright cute and suited them really. Hahaha. You want to know who these charming, such cuties and talented Tian-tian, Makoy and Bentoy are? Drum roll please! Hahaha. No other than Christian Ingebrigtsen (Tian-tian),  Mark Read (Makoy) and Ben Adams (Bentoy) of A1! *insert fan girl scream!

A1 first visited Philippines way back 2004 (not sure about this). I was only a high school student then who quickly fell to their charm and sweet music. Listening to their songs made every single girl living feel that they are being serenaded, no, more on being pursued by these charming British guys. Same goes for me. Pak!

Let me insert here a super a1 fan experience okay? Hahaha. I just can’t help telling people how I love a1 since my high school years and the crazy things I did to prove my love for them. May ganon?! Hahaha.

When a1 had their first concert here as I said I was just a high school student. I was a poor high school student who can’t even afford to support her favorite boy band by buying their albums.  Huhuhu. I can only fill up my craving for them by watching their music videos on MYX. It was accessible for me to learn about new song releases back then because we have cable TV. Today, we don’t have cable TV anymore. Also my interest in music lessened since boy bands slowly disappeared in the music scene. It took me only last year fondly involving myself again with music through the help of K-pop. Nowadays, I listen more on Korean songs more than English songs because I am certified K-pop fan. Hahaha.

Though these days I attend more to my K-pop craving, also because K-pop is the trend these days, I must say that 90’s boy bands are my first love. Westlife, backstreet boys, boyzone, savage garden, 98 degrees and most especially A1 were the firsts to capture my heart. Hahahaha. My adolescent days were extra special and full of memories involving these 90’s boy bands.

Last night, watching A1 perform their signature dance moves and sing their greatest hits in front of their many fans, including me, brought back so many memories to every single person present in the concert hall. Girls, gays and even guys? Yes definitely, can’t help giggling and screaming when A1 finally showed themselves after the long wait and started singing their popular songs such as Caught in the Middle, Same Old Brand New You, Be the First to Believe, Summertime of Our Lives. They didn’t miss any of their popular hits including Heaven By Your Side, No more, One More Try, Ready or Not, Take on Me, last but not the least Like A rose and even introduced songs from their new album.

Sorry to say but I still didn’t buy their new album for money reasons. Weh?! I don’t have spare money last night really. Weh?! Another thing is, I no longer listen to songs in CD’s as  already have my Ipod. I basically download songs I like then create a playlist.

Sarah bought the signed album and told me, Kimpee and Ate Krisna (kimpee’s sister) that we must buy one to show our support to A1 but we didn’t listen to her. Haha. The three of us only planned on downloading their new songs. Hahaha. Kame na talaga ang namimirata! Haha.

When the time came for A1 to offer their last song, fans started screaming to them not to leave. As much as they want to stay longer, they can’t, because they have other countries to perform. Seeing them disappear in the darkness made us all sad and lose our minds.

Good thing Blue, another British boy band composed of Lee, Duncan, Simon and Antony who also rose in the 90’s also cheered the crowd wearing dashing suits and sang with their sweet but powerful voices their first song “Sorry seems to be the hardest word”.  We all went back to our feet while listening to them sincerely singing their popular songs such as Too close, If you come back, Breathe Easy and All Rise. It was evident that this band did prepare for their performance as they have videos flashing simultaneously while they were singing. They even change costume for their second and the rest of their songs. Fans were energetic again in their performance, singing with them and responding to their fan service, screaming and giggling when they bid their goodbye on their fifth song. Yes, they only sang five songs leaving fans in strong astonishment.

They did an utterly sudden end to their show in which Sarah thought maybe was only a joke. It was confirmed wasn’t a joke when Blue didn’t come back out after few minutes and lights were turned off.

Many fans were dismayed by the ending of the concert. We had speculations on why such thing happened like Blue’s performance was cut short because A1 owned the stage for an hour. Also, we thought that the concert started late causing one of the performers to shorten their show who happened to be Blue. Well, we really didn’t know what happened there.  All four of us planned on watching separate concerts of each boy bands next time so we won’t feel left hanging again.

Nevertheless, though the concert didn’t end as we expect it to be, it was all worth listening to these boy bands perform their greatest hits. We listened to three of the best 90’s boy bands in one night. We really saved a lot because of that.

Let me end this long blog post (soreeee ang haba!) thanking our Creator for giving me more than enough to reward myself with these sort of things.  Before I can only dream to see my favorite idols in person, hearing them sing live but that dream came true last night. That definitely wouldn’t be possible without His grace and blessings. Thank you Lord! Please more blessings to come for more concerts to attend! Next time CN Blue and SNSD concert na! Hahaha.

We Got Married (Goguma Couple)

For the benefit of those who are not familiar with We Got Married, it is a Korean reality show produced by MBC where popular celebrities and idols acting as make-believe married couples. The show had already paired many couples that have captured hearts of many people because their unique, funny, most of the time crazy married life.

I learned about this show by a friend whose sister was a big fan of SNSD’s SeoHyun. Seo Joo Hyun or simply Seo Hyun joined the show with CN Blue’s Jung Yong Hwa. They were named as “Goguma Couple” by netizens of Korea because of Seohyun’s affection for Goguma. Goguma is the Korean word for sweet potatoes.  Seohyun would even pick the gogumas over Yong Hwa if ever she has to choose between the two. Hahaha. Poor Yong Hwa!

I effin enjoyed watching the Goguma Couple because they were really a great match. Seohyun is an upright girl while Yong Hwa is childish. He often acts like a kid around seohyun though he’s two years older than her. Their age difference had Seohyun speak to Yonghwa in formal dialect which made the latter feel she’s uncomfortable with him.

The couple shared lots of good memories together from seohyun learning how to play the guitar through yong hwa, meeting both their families, doing stage performances together, going to amusement park, applying for driver’s license to surprising each other on their birth days. I cannot pick my most favourite episode though I really find the episode when the couple went to CN Blue’s new dorm for a housewarming party funniest. I had that episode replayed for a couple of times already but I still laugh loud watching it. Yong Hwa’s band mates Jungshin, Jonghyun and Minyuk aside from being handsome have their funny sides too.

I must say that after watching the Goguma Couple, I found myself looking for news about them. I wish for them to be dating in real life just like the other fans of Goguma Couple. Aside from the couple, I slowly got hooked with SNSD and CN Blue. I watched SNSD’s as well as CN Blue’s music videos in the office because my internet at home is so slow (patay ako kapag nahuli ako hahaha). I even came to a point when I downloaded their mv’s and put in my ipod. Ang adek ko na!

Of course, as only make-believe couple, and like other previous couples, the Goguma Couple had their end of marriage because of their tight schedules and various overseas activities. It was hard to see both of them finally separating after all the good things they did together, their relationship that slowly developed and the sweet things they did for each other. I can remember my friend texted me past midnight saying she cried watching Goguma Couple’s farewell episode.

Well, I did shed tears also but maybe not as much as my friend. Hahaha. It was really sad to be ending such good marriage that felt like so real.

Cheesy as this may sound, I do wish to have a marriage as sincere, genuine and sweet like what the Goguma Couple had. I like the idea of couple’s doing things together like what Seohyun and Yong Hwa did to deepen the relationship and make each other comfortable. I super like the idea of couples walking more than riding vehicles as they will have longer time to talk stuff about each other. Hindi sa makunat ako ah pero bet ko talaga ang ideya na yon. Hahaha. I wish something like this would happen to me too in the future. Chos!

All Good Things Must Come to an End

Such a serious title eh? Huhu. I effin sad right now because I just saw another adorable couple in We Got Married end their marriage. Known as WGM’s “Lettuce Couple”,  Ssangchu Couple in Korean language, singers Kim Hyun Joong and Hwang Bo divorced due to their busy schedules.

Lettuce Couple’s aired a long time ago but I only had the chance to see it when Janey downloaded their episodes. When I learned that Kim Hyun Joong, leader of SS501 and popular for his character as Jihoo in Boys Over Flowers was casted in We got Married, I wished to see his marriage and her make-believe wife.

He was paired with Hwang Bo, also a singer but older to him by six years. They were introduced in the first episode of We Got Married as younger man and older woman bridegroom because of their big age gap.

It became difficult for the couple to start their marriage mainly because of their age gap. Kim Hyun Joong spoke to Hwang Bo formally and called her noona most of the time though they were to act as a married couple. It took Hyun Joong a long time to have himself used to calling her wife instead of noona.

Literally, their marriage looked like a mother and son relationship instead of husband and wife relationship. Hwang Bo took good care of her husband Hyun Joong so much, cooking healthy and delicious meals for him, helping him fix his hair, sewed scarf and vest and other stuff usually done by a mother to her son.

There was much awkwardness between the lettuce couple because the husband is not that talkative and a little four-dimensional worst has adult phobia. Hyun Joong feels uncomfortable talking to elders so Hwang Bo really had a difficult time to ease the tension between them since she is his senior.

Hwang Bo had to endure many awkward and quiet moments with Hyun Joong but because of her determination, positivism and natural kindness, slowly, she got hold of Hyun Joong and ended up continuing their marriage after they shot a farewell vacation episode already.

Previous seasons of We got Married had their couple’s decision on whether they would still continue their marriage or not. In the Lettuce Couple’s case, Kim Hyun Joong and Hwang Bo decided to stay in their marriage.

What I really like in Lettuce couple is the fact that though there is a big age difference between Hwang Bo and Hyun Joong, they acted the husband and wife role naturally. They helped each other in pulling off their marriage, being in each other’s side, developing a good relationship in spite of their busy schedules. There are also lots of funny moments, the couple shared alone and with other people. Hwang Bo’s cheerfulness and hyperactive mode matched well with Hyun Joong’s random joke moments.

Watching the Lettuce Couple in We got Married, gave me the opportunity to see the real Kim Hyun Joong. I want to believe, no I believe that he wasn’t acting when he showed his concern over Hwang Bo’s skimpy outfits when she’s in their home or performing. I find it really cute for him to hate seeing her make-believe wife showing much skin when they are seeing other people even his dongsaengs in SS501 or performing on stage. I love his conservative (possessive) side? Kinikilig ako! Also his being four-dimensional always brings happiness to Hwang Bo. She’s often surprised with Hyun Joong’s statements and way of thinking that she laughs with mouth wide-open.

There was no single episode in Lettuce Couple they didn’t had games and bets. They are both very competitive especially Kim Hyun Joong who hates losing even to his wife. Hwang Bo always ends up buying food, eating sour chewing gums and losing her pride because of Hyun Joong. But all their games are really fun you would want to try it with your boyfriend. Hahaha.

The Lettuce Couple bid their goodbye to We got Married and their fans after eight months of marriage. Like previous WGM couple’s they were sad ending the marriage and going on their separate ways but had to because of their busy schedules. The couple shot their farewell episode hiking Mount Halla. Reaching the mountain’s peak, they dedicated messages to their future spouse which made the wife cry because of the husband’s sincere message. I was especially moves by Kim Hyun Joong’s message to Hwang Bo saying “When there are hard times, think of how difficult it was to reach the peak of Mount Halla. Remember that after hard times, there will be laughter too”.

I must say that I felt sadder seeing Lettuce Couple divorced than the Goguma Couple but this doesn’t mean that I love the first more than the second. Hahaha. Baka umiyak si Janey! Peace Janey! ^_^.  I just feel that the lettuce couple ended their marriage too soon. They only had more than a hundred days being married unlike the Goguma Couple who even celebrated their 200 days together.

I want to see more of the Lettuce couple. I want them to talk more about themselves, make more good and sweet memories together, and have games and bets together. I want to see more of crazy, competitive and funny side of Kim Hyun Joong (sad) and Hwang Bo noona’s smile and laughter. I wish to become Hwang Bo in a sense that she can take care of her partner well. She’s really an ideal wife with the way she took care of her make-believe husband.

I think I won’t watch episodes of other WGM couples for the meantime. Chos! It really breaks my hearts seeing them breaking up in the end. Huhu. Affected much na ko! T.T

Project Korea

It’s no secret to those people who know me that I am a Koreanovela fangirl. Interested to watch a good koreanovela? Feel free to ask and I can give you bunch of dramas to watch. Haha.

Koreanovelas are actually the main reason why I’ve developed dark circles in my eyes because I kept on watching those until my eyes turn red. Vampiric na ang drama! Hahaha. I don’t care if  still have work tomorrow so long as I am able to finish almost 16-episodes of a korean drama. Tell me how can I stop watching koreanovelas when you see handsome faces of Korean actors like Hyun Bin (pak), Kim Hyung Joong (pak), Kim Jong Hoon (pak), Lee Min Ho (pak), Jang Geun Seuk (pak), Jung Yong Hwa (pak) (waaaaaaaahhhhhh pak na pak!) before you head to sleep. You won’t think of sleeping anymore when those faces are displayed on your laptop screen. Hahaha. Hindi maga-agree si Nhinay saken dito. Whateves! Hahaha.

I don’t remember the specific year I got hooked with koreanovelas. All I know is that this addiction worsen when I met Janey. Both of us are  crazy over Koreans either actors or singers. She’s head over heels with TVXQ while I on CN Blue. April of this month, she’ll fly to Korea together with her family. T.T I’m so inggit! T.T But I am very much happy that she’ll fulfill both our dreams to step on the land of our idols. Chos!

Since last year I promised myself to visit Korea if only cebupac would be generous enough to give the cheapest seat sale. But up until now, they are only giving 50%. Flights to Korea is still effin expensive, I can’t convince myself to avail. This sure is a problem of someone like me who has heard an officemate luckily availed flights to korea from manila only at the sum of 2,500. Gusto ko ganon din yung aken. Hahaha. Spell inggitera talaga ako. I kept asking my officemate I consider to be the luckiest person in the world how she won over getting that effin cheap flight? Course I know the answer. Hahaha. I just can’t believe that she got that and I can’t. Yun lang yon. Hahaha.

Up until now, I have not given up yet on the idea that my officemate’s luck will also happen to me. Ayaw kong gayahin si Jane na wala ng nagawa kundi magbayad ng mahal. Hahaha. Bleh Jane! I will wait for Cebupacific’s upcoming seatsales. While waiting, might as well do some savings so I won’t get a heart attack with the expenses I must face in my Korea dream. Hahaha. Parang California dream lang yan. Good thing, Marj, Anah and I had a dinner last night, we thought of doing  “Project Korea”. Bwahahaha. How creative we got with our project’s title.

In this project, the three of us must save a hundred a day including weekends. So that’s 700 a week. We’ll do this until our target travel date which is on January next year. That is if the world is still in one piece. Remember the movie 2012? Hahaha.

The world musn’t end yet. I still have to pursue my Korea Dream. Aja!

SPELL LAYP 2011 review

So wordpress has something like this sent to their bloggers on the first day of the year. I felt quiet surprised to have seen an email from wordpress about the 2011 annual report for my blog. Feel na Feel ko ng blogger ako dahil dito. Chos! I promise to blog more wordpress! :)

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 2,300 times in 2011. If it were a cable car, it would take about 38 trips to carry that many people.

What Will I Change For the Better?

With 2012 only 8 hours away, I thought of doing my list of things about myself that I will change for the better as said in this blog’s title. By the way, the title of this blog was inspired by a TV commercial of Alaska Krem Top I saw last night. I thought it’s more creative to use this than  go with “2012 New Year’s Resolutions” right?

I forgive myself as early as now, if I won’t be able to follow the resolutions I will put here. I find it really difficult to do so especially those resolutions that will require myself to control my emotions. Chos! Without further ado, here are the things, I will hope to change for the better :)

1. I will try to control myself more when it comes to my brothers and sisters (yung paninigaw, madaling magalit, yung mini-mining sakitan with my younger sister, etc)

2. I will speak of good words more than bad words (basta yung nakakasakit na salita hindi yung pagmumura ah hindi naman ako nagmumura e. defensive?!)

3. I will control myself with buying shoes and clothes (imeldific na daw kasi ako sabi nina ayessa at jane. pero feeling ko hindi naman. defensive na naman?!)

4. I will read more books

5. I will stick to my diet (naks duma-diet! yung diet lang na hindi kakain ng rice pagpatak ng 6pm o kaya more on bread, less rice)

6. I will blog more often

7. I will run more as well as encourage others (my family, friends and officemates) to also exercise

8. I will work harder (sa office at ang labada alam mo yan hahahaha)

9. I will pursue learning another language (Koryan!!!)

10. I will learn to cook for myself (wishful thinking)

11. I will be more independent

12. I will follow proper time management (ano daw?! hirap kasing mag-manage ng time lalo na kapag artista ka)

13. I will save more! (priority!)

14. I will stop complaining over little things

15. I will start being organized with my things

16. I will take brain quiz every morning before doing work (nabasa ko sa isang article na mas nagiging productive and efficient daw kapag ginagawa to.)

17. I will track all my expenditures (bawal na gasta lang ng gasta)

18. I will be more friendly (alam ko friendly naman ako. defensive for the third time?!)

19. I will make all my dreams come true (madami to pero push yan!)

20 I will pray and give thanks to our Lord every moment

21. I will never skip even a single Feast session (pero syempre kapag may delubyo na, wit na. baka ikamatay ko pa to ah. hahaha.)

22. I will travel more!!!!!!! (priority rin to!!! Korya!!!)

23. I will share my blessings (a must!)

24. I will contribute in the betterment of the society (pano ba to? hahaha)

So that’s it. I hope to be able to do all these.

From my family to yours, Happy New Year! :)

How happier could you get, arriving at the office with piles of gifts on your desk awaiting for you? *insert tantalizing eyes*

That was what happened when I came to the office  last day before christmas vacation (dec 23, 2011). My officemates were so generous giving gifts to make my christmas extra special. Happy Birthday Cora!

shawie conets and binoy forever! <3

The moment she’ll read this, I’ll definitely get a slap or two. Worst is, she won’t give me anymore food T.T waaaahhhhh goodbye skyflakes! T.T hahahahaha. HECHOS!

This blog post is dedicated to a college classmate, friend and seatmate in the office, Maria Corazon Foronda, fondly called Marco in the office. We’ve been seatmates in the office for more than two years already and I must say that I am super duper mega happy with it! Who wouldn’t want to sit next to a person who always carry lots of food inside her bag? Plastik lang ang aayaw ah! Libreng food yun! Hahaha. Echos lang Marky! :) )

Because of Marco, I won’t have to think about surviving merienda in the office. She would almost everyday give me any food she brought, oftentimes skyflakes which eventually became my favorite merienda in the office. Wahahaha.

Baldo and Nhinay would tease us having a romantic affair because of Marco’s extra sweetness to me. Hahaha. Pero nararamdaman ko may feelings saken si Marky. Umamin ka na Marky! :)

So Marco  is not only a friend to me but also my personal human grocery store. Hahahaha. Peace Marky! ^_^V

Kidding aside, my friendship with Marco grew stronger (stronger daw oh?!) when we became officemates and seatmates. We also belong in same team so we were also together in meetings and other work-related stuff.

Happy birthday Marky, Marco, Mama Marcs, Shawie Conets, CORA!! <3

Banapple Ayala Triangle

I won’t ever forget the time when I was transferred from Block 1 to Block 2 way back in college and found a friend in Marco. Being away from my real friends (so may fake friends ako) in a matter of a year became easier to endure because of Marco’s presence. She was still so positive back then. Kasi ngayon napaka-nega nya na tapos may pagka-masungit pa. Hahaha. So people do change. Ha? Ano daw? O sya tama na sa pagbabalik-tanaw. Hahaha.

Now that it’s Marco’s birthday, since I haven’t bought any gift to her yet, and she treated us to Banapple! Sa wakas nakakain din dun, might as well give her a birthday message na talagang mata-tats sya. Kung hindi, edi wag! Hahaha.

Marky, happy birthday to you! I know how happy you are right now because you’re prince charming in Dubai greeted you not only once but twice (parang familiar yung line na to). Thank you sa skyflakes, sa spaghetti cooked by your mom, sa makalumang wafer (tama ba?), sa apple, sa popcorn kanina sa office, sa cream based achuchu sa banapple at sa banoffe cake and a lot more (parang puro pagkain pinagpasalamat ko noh? hahaha), thank you very much. I am blessed with a friend like you na napakamapagbigay lalo sa food (food pa din talaga), at sa marami pang bagay. Yung tawa mo alamat na yan. Tanggap kita, nameng lahat sa office kahit napaka-skandalosa mong tumawa. Hahaha. Yung holiday ham naman hindi mo kami binigyan. Natapos na pasko wala pa din. Hahaha. Naku buti na lang makinis ka kung hindi, wala na. Nagtago na kameng lahat.Chos! I love you marky! Hope you enjoyed your special day. Next time na ang regalo, busy pa ang lola mo (pero nakapagsulat ako para sayo noh?!). Hehehe. muah! :-*

A night to remember: Christmas Party 2011

Sorry for being such a lazy blogger (blogger daw oh!). I’ve been slacking lately due to some uncontrollable circumstances. -_- HECHOS! No, no, I was just trying to kid. umepek ba? charot! A lot has happened this month of december that I did not find the time to post those on the day it occured. Soreeeee na! Eto babawi na ko. Hahaha.

Last December 10 (o dba dekada na ang nakaraan tapos ngayon lang ako magpo-post. hahaha) we had our company christmas party. It was held in Fiamma located in Jupiter St., Makati ave. Our last two company christmas parties happened in Bed space. Nahiya na siguro silang mag-company christmas party for the 3rd time sa bed space kaya iniba na nila. Hahaha.

We had the departmental performance again just like last year. If ever I am still in the company in the coming years, I would have to shamelessly dance and sing in front of many people again. Ang saaaakkkkeeeettt! T.T chos !

The week before the christmas party, all of us in marketing 2 department practiced hard while doing our own tasks in building links. Talk about multi-taskers there. Hahaha.

There were five parts in our performance if I remember it right. I did two of the five parts where in some part I got included in all girls group we fondly called ourselves Santa Girls -Joycy, Nhinay, Anj, Jinky, Irish and yours truly. Pagbigyan nyo na kame. Pinahiya na naman namen mga sarili namen e. Hahaha. The other part I did was with Kimpee, Enzo and Jinky, Nhinay and Christian. We miraculously made it to dance properly though we were in stairs of fiamma. Galing namen noh?! :p

When the day finally came, we decided to gather in the office first to have one more round of practice. That’s how competitive we were. Kidding! We were just not able to practice more in the office because of some political issues. sssshhhhh wag maingay. hahaha. Most of us came in the office not yet dressed up thinking that we will practice first but because others got stuck with traffic, us girls just dolled ourselves in the girl’s comfort room. Alangan namang sa boy’s comfort room? Hahaha.

All the girls in marketing 2 went frantic putting on dresses as well as make-up. I, of course just asked Joycy to dab little make-up to me since I am not used to doing that. After long hours of preparation, donning the best dresses and suits, we then went to Fiamma.

Arriving there, we realized we were overdressed. Hahaha. Spell naghanda talaga sa christmas partey?! Some of the people there were just wearing casual clothes. Nahiya lang talaga ako sa pagiging prepared namen. Chos! Though we were overdressed in that party, surely we were the most beautiful and handsome people inside Fiamma. Naks!

Coming there early gave us the chance to get the best place to stay in the bar. We waited hours for the food to be served as well as the program to start.

Aside from the departmental performance which we won 2nd place, first was the marketing 1, this year also our company had a beauty pageant. Representative from Marketing 2 was Essa Galang. Though she just won 1st place , in marketing 2′s hearts she’s our Miss Total Net. We got tired being audience of the said pageant that we just wish for the real party to start already.

After the announcement of winners, we immediately vacated the place we stayed during the pageant then went upstairs. There we just put down our things and started dancing. We danced like it was our first time to dance really. We don’t care about people from other department looking at us. Inggit na inggit sila sa kasayahan namen. Hohoho. We all danced non-stop for two hours just as what Baldo said. We did not care how sweaty we all got after dancing to music most we are not familiar. Sana naman palitan ng fiamma yung playlist nila noh? Some of us stepped on each other’s feet but no one got mad because we were in our own world moving our bodies in the beat of even the weirdest music. Ano daw?!

We parted our ways at past 12 midnight. Some continued the party at Top Grill. I went straight home with Marj because of extreme exhaustion. Marco, Marj, Janey, Ayessa and I hitched in Abel’s car so we really had a comfortable ride from Fiamma to Buendia. Unfortunately, there were no divisoria jeepneys in Buendia so Marj and I ended up flagging a cab. I arrived home at 2 o’clock. The next day, I woke up feeling heavy and got hoarse voice. Hahaha. Sumayaw ba naman ako ng sumayaw ng halos dalawang oras with matching kanta pa, sino ba naman hindi sasakit katawan at mapapaos. Though I suffered the next day the after-effect of partying like a wild animal still that night was one of the highlights of 2011 for me because I was surrounded with the best, happiest, craziest, smartest, kindest people in the world, my Marketing 2 officemates and friends. ayeeeee!

Friday Pig Out at Panciteria Lido

I was actually on a diet (chos!), but couldn’t refuse to the dinner invite of the bestest partner in the world *insert drum roll* Rowie and her handsomest boyfriend *insert drum roll again* Briggs last week at Panciteria Lido (ahem libre ulit! Hahaha.) I wouldn’t dare refuse such offer solely for the reason that I get to have my first taste of Panciteria Lido’s food for free. Hohoho. How lucky can you get! (Rowie and Briggs, more libre puh-lease!)
handsomest boyfriend ni rowie! ayeee.

Anna and I battled it out to a big crowd of MRT commuters to be able to reach to North Edsa where Rowie and Briggs were waiting. I even had a fight with one of the guy commuters  when he yelled at us (Anna, I and 2 more girls in their college uniform) as we politely asked for all the guys to let us through to the female section in MRT . I got so mad by what he did because he made us look fools in front of those who’ve heard him so I shouted at him also. I know it wasn’t the best thing to do that time but I felt the need to respond to his bad manner.
To make the matters worst, we had difficulty riding the train because of the huge crowd of people in front of us. On the 5th train that came, we were able to save ourselves small space to fit our small bodies (ay ako lang pala may maliit na katawan si anah dambuhala! haha.). We reached SM North Edsa at 8 o’clock I think after so many delays that happened. Good thing Rowie and Briggs were patient enough (hindi wala lang silang magawa kundi maghintay. Hahaha.) to wait for us for an hour or so. :P
Panciteria Lido Visayas Avenue Branch

Panciteria Lido Visayas Avenue Branch

Fifteen minutes more of travel riding a Project 6 jeepney from SM north Edsa, we set foot on Panciteria Lido located at Visayas Avenue.
I honestly have long been wishing to try Lido’s food because Rowie kept on bragging about how yummy their food was specifically the chummy one. Hahaha. Sorry I don’t know how it’s called. I only remember Rowie calling it Chummy or chami chuva. I even don’t know how it is spelled. Hahaha.
I must say that the ambiance of the restaurant is quite cozy. Weird is the ceiling is so high unlike in other restaurants. Rowie reasoned that her boss/one of the owners of the restaurant (pwede po ba kayong maging boss din? Joke lang po! :) ) is fond of high ceilings like the ceilings in her own homes. Yes, homes talaga. Hala ka Rowie tsinismis mo yung boss mo. Hahaha.
sabaw pa lang, ulam na! aprub na aprub!
steamed fish fillet that melts in your mouth :)
Lido's special rice that tastes better than Chowking's yangchow. Naks! :)
manchurian chicken wings
Briggs and Rowie ordered for Manchurian wings chicken (sweet and spicy taste), special rice (sori hindi ko na maalala yung name pero it tastes better than Yangchow rice of Chowking) and the steamed fish fillet with tausi (tama ba?! hahaha). The steamed fish was my favorite because it wasn’t like the kind of fish fillet I’ve tasted in our old building’s canteen and in other restaurants. It’s so soft and tender that it melts in your mouth. Parang pang TVC yung linya! Hahaha. A not-fan of sweets like me, I only ate one piece of manchurian chicken. The problem is with my tongue who isn’t fond of sweets but the dish was truly delicious. One piece is enough for me to say that it is one of the must-try food in Lido’s Menu.

DROOL! *insert naglalalaway pes*

Nabaliw sa sarap ng manchurian chicken. Kinakausap nya na yung chicken. Haha.

We thought that was the end of the feast for the night then came Lido’s famous Hot Chocolate. As I said I wasn’t born with a sweet tooth so rarely I appreciate sweets but the hot chocolate is an exception. It tastes better than Hersheys. Really!

We all came home with added pounds but happy tummies because of the heavenly taste dishes served in Panciteria Lido.
For those living in Quezon City area, grab the chance to eat at Panciteria Lido. Those residing far, endure the long travel because eating at this fine-dining restaurant is worth all the travel. Definitely a must-try restaurant. :)
